This animation is a representation of the emotional and physical trials I’ve overcome to attend and graduate University of Oregon. Applying to the University while stranded in Spain, attending freshman orientation in Connecticut while taking care of family - my journey to Eugene was nothing but Crossing Ponds. In recovery from my jarring physical transitions I found refuge in fish keeping and the study of aquatics. Fish are often underestimated and overlooked, yet many species, including Koi, have flamboyant personalities, remember the hand that nurtures them, and use scale color to display contentment. My animation’s ambition was to exhibit the therapeutic tranquility I discovered in freshwater aquatics with my local community.
